What Is FIRST?
Thank you to FIRST(Inspiration and
Recognition of Science and Technology)
for making a great league, where
gracious professionalism is often
used. Gracious Professionalism is a way
of doing things that encourages
 high-quality work, notices the
value of others, and respects
 different individuals.
FIRST is a league
that should be a role model to
all leagues, regardless of
what league they are in (baseball,
softball,basketball,football,etc.)
FIRST is the organization
that made Robotics the thing
it is today. Without FIRST and
gracious professionalism, robotics
would still be a dry barren land.
FIRST revolutionized Robotics
making it be a way of having
people look up to do well
  in science and technology.

Hosting Manager

"To transform our culture by creating a world where science and technology are celebrated and where young people dream of becoming science and technology heroes."

Dean Kamen, FIRST Founder

Mr. Kamen had a vision. He had the vision to change the way science and technology would be viewed. He wanted scientists and engineers to be celebrated, just like athletes are. He wanted so much for Science and Technology. He had a vision to change the world. Mr. Kamen wanted to make sure, using a great robotics league, that science and technology would be viewed in a great way.

History Of FIRST
FIRST is a great league that has come from humble roots. In 1992, Dean Kamen's league began. The first game was called  Maize Craze. 28 teams cooperated and the championship was held in a New Hampshire school gym.

In 1995, the championship moved to EPCOT, because of the amount of teams cooperating. In 2002, FIRST made a huge change because of capacity issues. From 2002, teams had to qualify to go to the national championship. Although they made this change, they still outgrew EPCOT, and they had to move to Houston. Since 2004, the championship game has been in Atlanta and it will remain so for this year.
This year, the name of the game is Overdrive. It is a very interesting game.
